A girl collecting corrugated iron outside a ruined school.
This area was completely flattened by Cyclone Pam. Now, three weeks later, this family (Lesbet Patrik and children pictured) has rebuilt a small house which incorporates local materials, recovered corrugated iron, and a tarpaulin supplied by Red Cross. Local resilience combined with a little hand up.
Repairs to Lenakel Hospital carried out by members of the Australian Army’s 3rd Combat Engineers.
